Chris Alex
Chris Alex serves as VP of US Upstream Asset Development for ĢƵ, where he leads upstream planning, wellfield development, drilling strategy, infrastructure evaluation, and operational readiness for the company’s US lithium brine assets. He brings 18 years of oil and gas experience spanning directional drilling, field operations, business development, energy transition projects, and large-scale asset execution.
Before joining ĢƵ, Chris held leadership roles at Nabors, including Senior Business Development Manager for Nabors Drilling and Nabors Energy Transition Solutions/Ventures, where he supported major oil and gas operators, as well as geothermal, lithium brine, and CCUS customers. He also managed complex directional drilling operations in West Texas and helped commercialize drilling automation technologies adopted across the Nabors fleet.
Chris holds a B.S. in Geology with a minor in Energy Management from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. His background combines field-level operational experience with commercial, technical, and strategic asset development expertise, with a focus on translating subsurface opportunities into executable upstream development plans.
Fun fact: Chris lives with his family on a historic working ranch in Central Texas, where he spends much of his free time managing livestock, improving land and water infrastructure, and continuing a family ranching tradition dating back to 1854.
